What does CNC milling cost in 2026? Real prices per material and quantity
Few shops in the Benelux publish prices. We do. Below are indicative prices for three representative parts, computed with the same engine as our quote tool — from 1 prototype to 5,000+ pieces.
- CNC milling in the Benelux typically costs €25–€275 per part depending on size, material and tolerance. The three biggest drivers are quantity (at 100+ pieces the unit price drops about 45%), material (stainless 304 is roughly 50% more expensive than aluminium 6061) and tolerance (±0.01 mm costs about 80% more than standard ISO 2768-m).

- What is the hourly rate for CNC milling in Belgium?
- We price per part rather than per hour — it is more transparent and easier to compare. For reference, a modern 3-axis milling machine runs at €55–€90 per machine hour in the Benelux, a 5-axis at €95–€140. Those rates are already inside our unit prices, together with material, setup, programming and inspection.
- Why is a single prototype relatively expensive?
- Setup lands entirely on that one part: building the fixture, proving the program, measuring the first article. From 10 pieces that cost spreads out; from 100 pieces it nearly disappears. That is why you see about 15% off from 10 pieces and up to 45% from 100.
- How does CNC turning compare to milling on cost?
- CNC turning is usually 20–30% cheaper than milling for rotationally symmetric parts such as shafts, bushings and flanges, because turning removes a lot of material in a single set-up. As soon as milled features, flats or cross-holes are needed, the price converges with milling.
- Is 3D printing cheaper than CNC milling?
- For 1–5 plastic parts (PA12, SLA), 3D printing is often 30–60% cheaper because there is no setup. From roughly 20 pieces in aluminium or stainless, CNC milling almost always wins on both price and material properties.
- Do you charge extra for tight tolerances?
- ISO 2768-m (±0.1 mm) is included in the base price. ±0.05 mm adds about 30%, ±0.01 mm about 80%. Apply tight tolerances only to functional surfaces rather than blanket-toleranced drawings.
- Is the price guaranteed on a repeat order?
- Yes. On a repeat order within 60 days we guarantee the same unit price. Under a framework agreement — for example 4 × 250 pieces a year — prices are fixed for 12 months.
